AGE CONCERN SAY THANKS

Age Concern would like to say a very big thank you Spud Murphy's and to thank many people in and around Torrevieja and the Orihuela Costa for their generosity in helping to fill containers, which were placed by Spud Murphy's and which gathered a staggering number of Christmas goodies. The items were then packed in to Christmas wrapped boxes and delivered to the Age Concern Costa Blanca Sur Centre in Calle Paganini, La Siesta with a request to distribute them. These people were recognised by friends and neighbours and by Age Concern as being people who welcome the gifts. Like Christmas last year Spud Murphy's asked Age Concern for their help in delivering the hampers and Age Concern was only too delighted to help. Thanks also go to the NOSMO club for their generous donation of a large Christmas hamper. Age Concern also contributed from donated funds many other hampers and this year placed into the hampers of the people who were known to have pets, some pet food as many of the older people would sometimes feed their pets rather than themselves. The photograph shows Alan Horabin, one of Age Concern's volunteer drivers with Eileen who had just received one of the hampers. Eileen said " Thank you to everyone for this wonderful gift of Christmas cheer and now I can enjoy some of the little extras I wouldn't have had otherwise'
