Last years event turned out to be an excellent family night out and was enjoyed by all.
Over 300 people turned up to support this excellent charity event. An amazing 1100 Euros was raised for the Paul Cunningham Nurses.
The Match on 17 July will be taking place at Estadio Ikomar which is situated on the CV 925 just beyond Pilar de la Horadada behind the Cepsa petrol station heading towards Pinar de Campoverde. Admission is 5 Euros – Under 16s are free.
The standard of football is quite high as each team is selected through the top players from both local English and Spanish Men’s 7 A-Side leagues. Both teams will be in full international Kits.
This Event is the idea of Junior who runs Junior Strikers Football School here on the Costa Blanca. Junior’s aim is to continue to do as many charity football events as he can in order to raise substantial amounts of money for The Paul Cunningham Nurses who carry out vital work within our local community. Due to last years event and his continued hard work with childrens football Junior was voted for the community spirit award in last years Pride of Spain Awards and made it to the final three in his category.
Junior told us” organizing this event gives me a great sense of pleasure because football is my passion and combining this with being able to raise money and awareness for such a worth while cause is fantastic. Please come down and cheer us on, Maybe we can make up for the poor performance of the English squad in this years world cup”
Pre match and half time entertainment will be supplied by local dance group from Quesada Dance Extreme along with the children from Junior Strikers Football School who will be the taking part in a penalty shoot out competition.
