PETANCA CUP PAIRS

They say only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the mid day sun! well throw in a few other nationalities and you have the perfect recipe for a sap draining - but terrific fun day.  The mixed doubles tournament for the Summer petanca league took place on the pistes at Restaurante El Altos de Dolores at La Mata last Saturday.
 
Start time was 10.30 and as the sun came up so some pairs hopes soared, others were blown away with the wind!  22 teams took part and the well deserved winners were Alan Flitman and Anita Ludwig.  2nd place  Roland and Nicole Jacquemin.  3rd Dave and Margaret Collins and 4th were Bob and Beth Kelloway.
 
Cups, medals and wine for the winners were donated by Casas Manuel who have sponsored the Summer League. Thanks go to all who did a wonderful job in making the day run smoothly and enjoyably.
