Contributor / 2012-05-13 17:43:36
The 10th year of the European Day Petanca, attracted 13 Countries. With the winners Hans Karlsson and Lennart Lundahl, from Sweden the supreme champions.
They worked well together which paid dividends, they had previously beaten Spanish Fernando, and Rodrigo, then Rufino and Vladimir from Romania in the semi final. They were faced with the inform pair of Jacques Paolacci from Corsica and Pepino of France.
Again good team work helped Hans and Lennart build a steady lead this put Jacques and Pepino under pressure , with the Swedish pair opening up a sound lead to win the trophy. Both pairs had played well over the two days. The Spanish domination seems to have waned of late, with the improving Countries keen to challenge for honours.
The Belgium players were out in force with Guy Fernandez, and Veronique Davin, from the San Luis club taking 3rd place, a good performance, with Christiane and Gino Also Playing well in the B Final.
