Situated just off La Zenia roundabout, La Ponderosa, your specialist gift shop, is the ideal place to buy a present that's that little bit different.
The 200 square metres the shop occupies are stocked with a multitude of exquisite ideas, to fit all pockets and ages. It is the perfect place to do your Christmas shopping, you can spend as much or as little as you want to, there are unique little nick nacks costing just a few euros, right up to designer watches and accessories.
La Ponderosa must be doing something right, as this November 24th they will be celebrating their tenth anniversary, and in order to thank their customers for their support they will be laying on cava and snacks all day, during their usual opening hours, from 10am to 8pm.
La Ponderosa started out selling much more rustic products, but have changed their lines on various occasions always managing to suit just what their customers are looking for. At present they have a huge stock of all the best brand names, catering to the tastes of customers who are looking for something that's guaranteed to please.
Decorations and greeting cards are another big seller here. There are party balloons, wrapping paper and original party cake candles. The Christmas decorations are exquisite and would give any home a festive feel.
The Lacoste and Playboy accessories include T shirts, bags, purses, wallets and belts. Jewellery by Pilgrim is always guaranteed to bring a smile to the recipient, as is the silver jewellery by Morgan. There is a huge range of cool watches with brand names like Levis and Puma, down to less expensive but different watches.
The L'Occitane beauty range is very popular, as is the Colony candle range, with a multitude of high quality fragrances. Sia homeware offers glasses, candle holders and flowers, to decorate any spot in your home. The crockery by Asa is pleasing and would look good on any table. There is a range of fragrance burning lamps by Lampe Berger, with quality natural room perfumes by Millefiori. The Bugatti and Zack home ranges offer stainless steel salad bowls, cutlery and attractive coffee machines, to name but a few items. The kitchen accessories offer items such as oven mits, original silicon lemon and garlic squeezers, a stainless steel soap bar, which rids hands of unpleasant odours, fantastically simple apple slicers and all sorts of wine accessories.
The hand made porcelain by Nao is typically Spanish, as are the cheeky figures by Cuqui. There is a big variety of photo frames to fit any size of picture.
For young children there is the Lucy Locket collection for girls, and lots of novel ideas for boys, such as the Simpson's range, original stationary, novel umbrellas and the sweetest soft toys you can imagine. There are even hobby horses. There are educational toys for babies and toddlers and old fashioned sweets. Not to mention the Belgium chocolates by Leonidas, which you can pick and take home in a decorative box or bag.
The Occupation Mugs feature 90 jobs, so there should be something there for everyone. The gift magnets have messages of friendship and thanks, as do some of the candle holders.
