The Pole.
The popularity of Pole fishing has grown massively in the last 20 years, and is the first bit of kit a match Angler would pack. The cheapest take apart Poles will cost from 90 Euros up to and well beyond, 3,000 Euros, but you can also get telescopic Poles from as little as 12 Euros. The Pole will give you more control over your float as you place the rig into the water- this gives you a chance to fish with a much lighter and sensitive set up.
Modern Poles are designed to be fished with elastic running inside the top 2 or 3 sections. The elastic acts as a shock absorber between the Pole and a fish. When using a Pole the elastic rating must match the fish you are targeting and also the range that the Pole is designed for. The Purchase of a Pole in the range 90 Euros to 3000 Euros will be difficult here in Spain, but some tackle web sites will deliver here,-you will have to browse them to find out which ones do this.
Reels.
The best choice of Reel for you to choose would be a fixed spool one with two spools- one a shallow spool to be filled with 5-6lb breaking strain nylon to be used for float fishing, and the other filled with 8-9lb line for feeder and ledger fishing. These will cost from 10 Euros up to 100 Euros.
Other tackle that will need to get is a landing net, rod rests, various floats, an assortment of hooks, weights, feeders and a disgorger. You will also need to get a tackle box, seat, boots, waterproof clothing and also an umbrella which is used mainly for protection from the sun, not the rain.
