The State Agency of Meteorology and the Laboratory of Climatology of the University of Alicante have announced a severe weather warning set for next week.

Although deemed not as severe at the Gota Fria storms that devastated the Vega Baja regions in September, it is unsure has to how bad the rains will be.

Heavy rainfall could occur during October 21, 22 and 23 – the ‘cold drop’ spanning across Alicante – as sea temperatures decrease.

The State Agency of Meteorology and the Laboratory of Climatology of the University of Alicante have warned Tuesday October 22 will see ‘torrential’ rain.

Severe storms across the Mediterranean and the Balearic Islands are forecast during October 21-22.

Mediterranean water temperatures are set to drop next week, with the heavy rainfall warning alert of torrential rains being put in place.

Temperatures in the Vega Baja regions hit 26 degrees on Friday, with a forecast of 25 degrees during the weekend.
