Two officers from Orihuela´s local police saved the life of a 64-year-old man at the weekend, thanks to a defibrillator being available in their patrol car.

The emergency services received a call at about 05:30 on Sunday morning, dispatching the local police to the scene. Upon arriving, the officers noted the man was lay on the floor and proceeded to render assistance, thanks to the lifesaving device and their training.

A paramedic unit arrived at the scene and took over the medical care, praising the officers for their prompt action. After 20 minutes trying to revive the man at the scene the medics managed to stabilise him before taking him to hospital for treatment.
