The councillor for street cleaning and Urban Solid Waste, Dámaso Aparicio, said last week that improvements to the 6500 sq mtr Orihuela Waste Depot at Puente Alto Industrial Estate should be finished within the next 2 weeks.
He said that the upgraded site includes “a parking area for 15 cars and 13 trucks, as well as internal roads, space for storage of containers and an area for cleaning trucks and sweepers.” The works have cost 48,000 euros.
The councillor said that the newly refurbished site, which unions threatened to strike for, will provide a far better environment from which the workers can operate.
