Nine members commenced the monthly medal competition at El Plantio last Tuesday in fairly benign conditions. Triumphant after 11 years of trying was part-time resident Graham Blakeway, who scored a handicap busting 38 Stableford points, closely followed by another part-time resident Mike Williams, who actually scored 39 Stableford points but had to settle for second place under the Medal Format, despite scoring three birdies to Graham’s one.
Nearest the pins – Hole 4, David Swann and Hole 5, Barry Walthall.
Third Place, Handicap 13, Paddy O’Brien – 56 shots.
Second place, Handicap 12.1, Mike Williams – 52.9 shots.
First place, Handicap 10.3 – Graham B – 51.3 shots..
If anyone would like to join our Society, we play at El Plantio Golf Club every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. We use both courses – the Par 3 nine hole course and the main 18 hole course, so we cater for all abilities. The membership rates are very competitive, so call for more details.
