3 intrepid ladies are about to set off on a 116km walk from Sarria to Santiago as part of their “bucket wish list”. This walk is part of the way of The St. James Pilgrimage (Camino de Campostela). Many will know of it from the film The Way.

It will be over 8 days commencing the 7th June, allowing a little time for sightseeing. The “3 Camino Girls”, aged between 50 and 70, have decided to combine their wish with raising money for Help at Home Costa Blanca to support the work they do in the community. They have been training for 10 weeks and have set a target of 1000€.

They will do a “blog” of their journey to put on the Help at Home Facebook site. Karen Palmer who works for Vincent´s Real Estate Agents and a member of Smile Charity Am Dram Group, Joan Bennett who is also a member of Smile Group and Heather Meston who is a member of Greenlands Bowling Club met Joan and Jacky from the Quesada Branch of the charity who thanked them for their kind offer and wished them every success.

The Camino Girls already have pledges from Vincent´s Real Estate, Smart Currency Exchange, Seagate Wealth Management and the Smile Group but would welcome any other sponsors.

Sponsorship forms and collection boxes are available at

Vincent´s Real Estates, Greenland´s Bowling,  Seegate´s, Oasis Bar Benijofár, The Post Room Benijofár, HaH Furniture shop Cabo Roig or HaH Charity Shop Playa Flamenca.
