COLIN Tizzard has confirmed that Ultragold will run in Saturday’s 2019 Randox Health Grand National – but he is focussed on the opening day of the three a day meeting that gets underway at Aintree on Thursday.

Trainer Tizzard has six entries in the Betway Bowl on Thursday, and highlights Elegant Escape, who finished sixth in the Cheltenham Gold Cup in March.

“Elegant Escape looks so well after running in so many races this season – he’s working the best I’ve seen him,” enthused Tizzard.

“He wasn’t very far behind Clan Des Obeaux at Cheltenham. The horses look lovely just now,” said Tizzard.

“At Cheltenham they weren’t good enough on the day. Things can change – and we’re looking forward to Aintree,” said Tizzard.

Annibale Fly remains at 10-1 in the 4 miles 2 furlongs Aintree Grand National. A noted stayed – who jumps really well – having just one fall in 15 chases, with three wins over 3 miles under the belt. Finished fourth in 2018.

Tiger Roll maintains favouritism at odds of 4-1 in a bid to repeat last year’s National victory for trainer Gordon Elliott – who is set to send a record 13 runners to post from the 40 horse line up.

Lake View Lad, a horse who has never fallen in 12 chases, is well supported in the betting at 14-1. A horse that stays well.

Pleasant Company, runner up to Tiger Roll last year, is a value for money 16-1 in the betting.
