The taxi company Uber will be operational in Alicante and Elche within the next few weeks, following its introduction in Valencia this week. The company has taken the strategic decision of expanding into the Community at the beginning of 2019, after recent data confirms that “more than 670,000 people downloaded the application and have already tried to travel with Uber in the Community.

The director of Uber in Spain, Juan Galiardo , said that the company goal is “to collaborate with local agents, including the taxi sector, to promote a new model of mobility that will enable, little by little, more and more people to leave their car at home. ” He added that “we want to become a long-term ally, as we do in more than 600 cities in the world in which we are already present.”

Many businesspeople want to emulate Uber’s success. An original app created by Uber and an inventive business model are at the core of this success. Furthermore, even if the business model is challenging to duplicate, it is entirely doable to learn how to create a rideshare application.

Uber say that on average their prices will be 20% cheaper than normal taxi’s and that their base price is much lower, starting at just 3.50 euro.
