If you live anywhere near Jávea and still haven’t bought all your Christmas presents, it might be a good idea to visit the craft fair that will be set up in the Port of Jávea in the long weekend from 6 till 9 December. Everything on offer will be hand made by the participants, that’s why they use the term Artesanía de Autor® to announce the fair.

From Thursday the 6th of December (a national bank holiday) and four days running some 20 stalls will set up at the sea side in the Port of Jávea – the exact spot is on Google Maps (go to https://goo.gl/maps/rx5uWDjHiYs or search for “Feria de Artesanía Jávea”).

They offer a wide choice of good quality craft work, from original lamps and small furniture made of recycled wood to some beautifully embossed leather items; from ceramics to paintings and water colours; from silver design jewellery to shawls, decorated T-shirts and wrought iron; and for the smaller ones, crocheted and knitted animals and wooden toys. All participants bring their tools to alter or personalize items and all are only too happy to take special orders when you can’t find what you are looking for.

As this fair is organized by the regional craft association Amata, you can be sure all of it is original work, all made by the people at the stalls – no cheap imports, no stuff from a factory.

The fair runs from 6 till 9 December, all four days from 11 am till 9 pm and does not close at midday. More information, also in English, on 639 979 678.
