Daya Nueva 11 v. CD Montesinos 0

Daya started as if they really meant business this evening.  Within the first five minutes they created a good number of chances but last ditch defending and a good save kept the home side at bay.

This all changed on six minutes when from a corner the ball was lashed home by Rocamora to put Daya 1-0 up.  At this stage it was all too easy for the home side but we have been here before ?  On twenty two minutes Montesinos broke down the left but the finish left a lot to be desired.  At least the visitors were just about getting into the game a little more now.  Daya’s second arrived on thirty six minutes following a good move that saw the ball reach Josue, he still had plenty to do, he beat two defenders before shooting across the advancing keeper for a well taken goal.

So the home side were now firmly in the driving seat and one more goal would surely put this game to bed.  On forty two minutes this goal almost came but the keeper made a good save at the second attempt.  On the stroke of half time Daya’s third came when an effort from Miguel eluded the defence and keeper alike to sail into the net for a well deserved 3-0 half time lead.

Daya continued in the same vein as the second half got underway, almost scoring with their first attack.  On fifty one minutes another good build up saw Miguel score his second and Daya’s fourth meaning the visitors now needed a miracle to get anything from the game.  Franki came on at sixty minutes and had the ball in the net within thirty seconds for 5-0, he made it 6-0 minutes later !

Goal number seven followed on seventy minutes with a good run and finish by Marcos.  Jaime came on in goal to replace the impressive debutante Kepe.  Franki turned provider on seventy five minutes to set up Ivan for the eighth, could Daya reach the magical ten   Josue certainly thought so, his swift footwork opened the way for a nice finish from him for number nine.

With eight minutes still to play you would not bet against it being ten but that honour fell to Sadi, with still five minutes to go.  Franki wrapped things up with Daya’s eleventh just as the final whistle blew.

Daya were just superb in all departments this evening.  I cannot remember an 11-0 victory before although the way Daya performed tonight it might not be too long before another big score comes along.

Coach Jesus put out the best Daya side seen in a while, long may it continue.  Man of the Match, all of them.
