Seven airlines have now confirmed that they will operate from Corvera Airport when it opens its doors on 15 January.

In addition to Jet2, Easyjet, TUI Fly Belgium and Ryanair, which have already confirmed their intention, at a recent meeting of the airport Board of Directors, it was announced that Norwegian, Aerlingus and Volotea will also be using the facility.

In addition, Vueling has shown interest in operating routes with Barcelona. Norwegian will fly to and from the Nordic countries; Aerlingus will fly to Ireland; while Volotea will establish connections with northern Spain, principally Asturias.

It was also said that Easyjet has increased the number of seats by 44% to 92,988, Jet2 has increased by 17%, band Ryanair by 5% with 49,575 seats.

These figures show an increase of 13% over the previous season confirming that Corvera airport is beginning to be accepted by members of the public.

Meanwhile the Murcia Government has been pushing the airport at the World Travel Market held in London last week, in efforts to stimulate the British market in the region, which currently accounts for over 325,000 people, 40% of all visitors to the region and almost 42% of foreign tourist spending.
