Our competition this month was played at La Serena golf course, the course was in good condition for the time of the year, La Serena is a course with plenty of water lurching about to catch the unsuspecting player however on most holes if you can manage to play your shot middle to left of the fairway then its usually in a good position for your next shot towards or at the green, as Serena is a course that requires sensible course management, our best score from twenty-three golfers on the day was thirty-three points.
Onto our results our N T Ps were on hole three Peter List, hole nine being won by Helen Beddows with Davey Owen winning the fifteenth then Malcolm Evans was nearest the pin on hole seventeen all taking home sleeves of golf balls. Our BF nine with twenty points was Stewart Lee and our best back nine being taken by Ian Allison who scored seventeen points both received bottles of Rioja,
In third place with thirty-one points but losing on count back to Malcolm Evans was John Rush who received a bottle of Rioja, Malcolm Evans took bottles of red and white Rioja wine home and our winner on the day was Kjell Svenson who scored thirty-three points, winning a bottle of Bacardi our soccer card winner who selected Rangers was John Rush, I must say well done to all of our players.
We had returned to the Mini Golf close to Quesada’s Arches for our presentation and as usual the staff there really looked after us with drinks, and food that had been supplied by Rik and Lisa the bar’s owners.
Busters Golf Society is a small friendly group of like-minded people who play on the first Friday of the month , depending on the time of the year we generally have between sixteen and twenty four players ,
Over the five years since we first formed the society some of our original members have moved on, either returned to their country of origin or have ventured to pastures new, so we are looking for a few more members to swell our ranks, if you are interested in joining our society ( its free) then please email me Barry Grinsell at firstname.lastname@example.org quoting your phone number and current handicap and I will get back to you within a couple of days .
