Passenger traffic continues to grow at the San Javier airport despite the announcement of its closure.

Between January and April, 282,583 travellers passed through its concourse, which is 13.4% more than during the same season last year. The upward trend continues, despite the fact that the first few months of the year fall into the low season, with most of the coastal hotels still closed.

The passenger statistics have now accumulated 19 months of uninterrupted increases.

In terms of aircraft movements, the airport registered 2,187 takeoff and landing operations in the first four months of the year, equivalent to almost 15% more than that in the same period of 2017.

The results of tourist traffic in April also provided increased figures. In the fourth month of the year, 131,161 passengers passed through the terminal in San Javier, that is, 9.5% more than in April 2017. In terms of operations, in April they also increased, by 14.9%, with a total of 961 aircraft movements.
