Our two latest Games evenings, and more recently the first Philosophy group of the year, were held at the new venue of the Calle Delicias Cafe bar in  the Plaza del Ayuntamiento in Mazarron. When looking for a more central meeting place, we chose the Calle Delicias because of the warm welcome extended by the proprietors, the pleasant surroundings, and not least the delicious food for after-meeting suppers.

So the games evenings continue to grow in popularity, with several new participants at each one. Rumikub, Scrabble, Cards and miniature Jenga continue to be popular, and the evenings were rounded off with supper.

At the Philosophy group there was a lively discussion on the topic of

” Is a citizen of the world a citizen of nowhere?” Again we were joined by several new members. As ever no conclusions were reached, but we went away with some interesting thoughts.

Humanists of Murcia April Walk

Nine walkers from San Juan, 4 from Totana, 2 from Lorca, 2 from Camposol, 2 from Bolnuevo, 1 from the Puerto and a dog set off from Los Puertos de Santa Barbara, near Tallante, for a 3 hour walk in the campo.

The leader was Audrey who kept the group together while setting a good pace.  Beautiful Murcia scenery, unique plants, old carob trees and a few fincas with big dogs and a lot of chat.

Lunch was held at La Gran Ventica in Las Palas where the hosts provided a vast quantity of great food.  Will definitely return when the dieting programme kicks in.
