Our Spring/Summer leagues are now in full swing with some interesting results.  At the time of writing our Lancasters squad are holding top position in Division 1 of the South Alicante League which is pleasing to note as they were promoted to this league this season.

In the Valencian Championship League our Lions are in second position in Division 1 and our Tigers are well ahead in Division 3 with some outstanding results.

At the beginning of April we held our AGM and welcomed a new President, Sandra Heath.  We also held our presentation night when the trophies were presented to the winners by the outgoing President and Captain, George Radmore and Peta Rhodes. See photos of our club singles champions, Jason Prokopowycz and Jacqui Johnston with George Radmore.

April also saw Quesada Bowls Club hosting the Champion of Champions competition and it is pleasing to report that our Ladies Pairs of Melanie Highand and Jacqui Johnston retained their title.  This was a very well supported event with many spectators over the week, despite some very unfortunate weather conditions.

During April Quesada was pleased to host a number of touring teams from the U.K. with very good results for Quesada.  However, the games were played in a wonderful spirit and our members entertained the visitors to light refreshments in The Club, following the matches.

Several of our members will be taking place in the Spanish Nationals at Emerald Isle Bowls Cub from 12th May, which will see our current Ladies National Singles Champion, Jacqui Johnston, defending her title.

Our Saturday morning ‘Chicken Drive’ is open to visitors.  Players wishing to take part should report at 9.45 a.m. for a 10.00 a.m. start.

For more information about our club please contact our membership secretary Joe Riley on 96 572 5787 or e mail joediriley@gmail.com.  New bowlers are welcome and introductory coaching is available.
