Our game this month was played at Vistabella, for most of our members it was the first time they had played the new course with its eighteen holes they were all pleased with the new seven holes that are now open and making the old eleven holes into a “proper” full golf course. We were greeted by Vistabella’s pleasant staff and enjoyed the bars sensible priced drinks and food before we teed off.
This month we had twenty-four players again this included our new members Eric, Bob, Tim, and Stephen, for our presentation, we returned to the Minigolf bar close to Quesadas Arches and enjoyed the food that Lisa, Rik and the staff prepared for us and after a couple of beers we had our presentation.
Our best front nine was won by Bill Peters with eighteen points and the better back nine being taken by John Rush both received red wine or Cava our nearest the pins were won by Ian Allison on holes two and eleven and Eric Lucas took the seventh hole both received sleeves of golf balls.
In the third place with thirty-two points and winning by means of a better back nine was Tim Goldsmith who took home a bottle of wine Stephen “Gilly“ Gilbert won second place with thirty-five points winning bottles of red and white wine but our winner on the day with thirty-six points was Larry Kinsella who received a bottle of Gordon’s gin, well done all of our winners. Martin Collins had generously donated the wines and Cava so than you Martin, Brian Jones won our soccer card selecting West Ham.
Next month we return to Alenda which is always a pleasure to play.
