The mayor of Orihuela, Emilio Bascuñana, has written to the Councilor for Health, Carmen Montón, requesting an immediate improvement to the sanitary services destined in the Orihuela Costa.

He has told the regional leader of, “the anger of our population, even before the sad death of a seven year old child last week.”

This letter is the fourth such letter that Bascuñana has sent to the health authorities since the beginning of the current legislature demanding improvements in the emergency services in the municipality of Orihuela, especially on ​​the coast.

The mayor has also stated in his letter that “it is necessary to review, analyse and justify the response times in such an emergency, particularly when it affects a child. He said that the SAMU response took much longer than should be the case when attending the scenes of such incidents.
