This month’s fund-raising night at Quesada Fish & Chips Restaurant raised 1,065 euros.  The money is being spent on clothing and books, which the young people at Elche Children’s Care Home need for their return to school.

Some of the older ones will be attending college to learn vocational skills, such as hairdressing, manicure, motor mechanic, and they will also be helped with the purchase of essential equipment.  The youngsters themselves are aware of the help they receive from the ex-pat community, and show their appreciation with big hugs and kisses.

Next month’s fund-raising night will be on Wednesday 18th October, when WOODY will be entertaining diners.  He is one of the most popular artists in South Blanca, and tickets for him always sell out well in advance.  Money raised on this night will be donated to Stroke Association Spain (formerly Torrevieja Stroke Support).

They recently moved into new premises at the Cultural Centre in Benijofar, and plan to extend their services to include those with other types of brain injury.

Tickets for Woody can be purchased from Quesada Fish & Chips, The Post Room Benijofar, The Card Place in Benimar and REDZ cafe bar in Quesada.  At 10 euros, inclusive of a meal, they represent excellent value, and will sell quickly.
