Airport management company Aena continue to invest in San Javier Airport with their replacement of traditional lighting equipment with new LED-type lamps that will reduce CO2 emissions, energy consumption and their maintenance costs.

The new lights (more than 800 of them) have been fitted throughout the terminal building where they illuminate an area of more than 11,000 square meters. They are all equipped with LED technology (Light Emitting Diode), which is far more efficient, provides longer life and which generate more unpolluted light (no mercury).

The annual energy saving is expected to be over 126,000 kilowatt-hours, and it will reduce emission by more than 20 tons of CO2 per year.
