Last weekend saw the start of the V International Open “City of Torrevieja” at Ozone Bowling’s lanes.

This year there is a total of 15 qualification squads and most of the Thursday, Friday and Saturday ones are already almost complete.

Building on the great success of last year’s edition, the organizers Club EBT and Ozone Bowling have already secured more than 150 entries, and the field is now more international than ever.  Top bowlers from all over Spain are facing fierce competition from many European countries, with more than 40 bowlers flying in from Finland alone.

After the first weekend, last year’s finalist Jari Aikioniemi of Finland is leading the way with 1345 (average 224.17). The highest game so far is Kjell Monsen’s 270. A total of 22 bowlers from qualification play plus two bowlers from Saturday night’s one-game Desperado squad will advance to the finals, where the first prize is a cheque of 3,000 euros.

A novelty in this year’s edition is a live-streaming service which allows you to follow the tournament online.  The coverage is scheduled to start on Thursday, 1st December at 12 o’clock and will continue all the way through Sunday’s final stages.

The finals on Sunday will start at 9am and finish around 4pm – everybody is welcome to watch!  For full tournament details, go to www.eurobowlingtorrevieja.com.
