The Plaza de la Constitución de Almoradí was the venue on Saturday for the 1st Volunteer Fair at which at a dozen Associations from the town took part in a day of awareness with the intention of boosting the number of volunteers in the municipality.

Some of the Associations that took part were the Alma Peluda, Protección Civil, ADIS, ADIEM and Acervega which showcased the work that they do in the local community in a bid to make the public more aware of their activities and to draw in additional volunteers.

“Young people must know the important of such associations in Almoradí,” said the Councilor for Youth and Sports Ana Andreu, adding: “There are many activities taking place in the town and I hope that today’s fair will provide the public with an understanding of what many of these volunteer associations do and the additional help that they so badly need.”

During the Fair, the Red Cross had a field hospital on display in which they offered workshops for cardiopulmonary resuscitation as well as offering tests for blood pressure and blood glucose levels. There were also a number of leisure activities available as well as crafts for adults.

In addition, the new Civil Protection vehicle was on show.
