Orihuela is once again represented at the international World Travel Market exhibition which is currently taking place at the ExCeL Arena in London’s Royal Victoria Dock.

The city is being featured on the Generalitat Valenciana stand by invitation of the Provincial Council of Alicante so the Orihuela will not incur any cost.

Both the Councillor for Tourism, Sofia Alvarez and the mayor of Orihuela, Emilio Bascuñana will attend the fair during which they will be talking with tour operators “specifically from Scandinavia and Belgium”

Ms Alvarez said Orihuela is delighted once again to be represented at one of the most important International tourism fairs. “We will be presenting a global image that will include our history, monuments, festivals, gastronomy and our most universal poet, so that we can continue to be a main destination chosen by the many tour operators who will come together at this event.”

Staged annually, World Travel Market London – the leading global event for the travel industry – presents a diverse range of destinations and industry sectors to International travel professionals. It provides a unique opportunity for the whole global travel trade to meet, network, negotiate and conduct business.

The event will be attended by more than 50,000 senior travel industry professionals, government ministers and international press, who will all be there to network, negotiate and discover the latest industry opinion and trends. The event, now in its 37th year, generates more than £2.5 billion of travel industry contracts.
