A ‘Pesticide Handling Course’ was completed in San Fulgencio last week. Authorised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food and Water, it was held in the Infants school located in C/Trafalgar de San Fulgencio.

Over 20 students from across the Vega Baja attended the course, which took place from 11 to 28 July. Instructors were provided by the Association of Young Farmers ASAJA Alicante with the assistance of Mr. José Manuel Cano, manager of AGROSANFUL.

The course taught students how to keep themselves, their colleagues, families and the environment safe when handling and use of pesticides

As well as classroom work the students were able to get out onto the land where they received a great deal of practical instruction on the mixing of chemicals, the equipment and it’s maintenance and the techniques involved in spraying.
