Torrevieja Utd under 10´s get off to bright start in Benjamin league

Torrevieja United Under 10's B team made history for the club on Sunday when they became the first team from Torrevieja United to play in the newly entered Alicante Football League. Despite going down to San Bartolome from Orihuela by 6-2 it was a bright start for the youngsters who, after falling three goals behind in the opening five minutes, held their opposition for most of the remainder of the game. The final score was 6-2 to their much more experienced opposition. After the opening period during which United took time to settle Andy Probert hit the visitors with a brace and with Ben Sellars holding things together at the back team coach Darren Holden was extremely satisfied with both the result and the performance. "Half of our kids are just seven years of age so the much bigger San Bartolome outfit were always going to put them under pressure. But once Torrevieja Utd settled into the game they played extremely well and at times they were the better team".
