FAREWELL TO CHAMPAGNE CHARLIE BEAVEN

One of our longest serving bowling members, Charlie Beaven, collapsed and died during a club social event last Tuesday evening.
Charlie always thought of the Bowling Club as his second home and attended every day either to play in or watch games. During this last Winter he had won the club President’s Cup where members gain one point for attending and two extra points for a win.
Charlie had attended every one of the 20 weeks of the competition, some weeks just to get the one point even though the weather made it impossible to play. Being such a regular in and around the club Charlie will be sadly missed.
