We are no complaining about the hospital or staff, we have both had the very best of treatment there and the staff have been helpful, courteous and very professional. We are complaining about patient's notes and records not being transferred from the Vega Baja hospital.
We feel that the new doctors and consultants have been badly let down by administration. Surely if patients are transferred then their records should follow them?
My wife and myself both had appointments in November 2006. At that time no records were available therefore the doctors had to ask why we were there. In my case (I had a heart attack in 2003) it did not matter so much as I had had full treatment and had had no further trouble. However, in my wife's case (she has had breast cancer) she also had an operation in 2003 and needs regular check ups. She had an appointment on March 22nd, again, no records. The doctor had to ask all the questions again and has now ordered tests again to try and find out what the results of the previous tests might have been.
How can doctors work like this? It is so unfair that they are working hard for their patients and they deserve better treatment from administration.
Vega Baja was fast enough in transferring the patients, a pity they are not so fast with the records.
I have another appointment in a fortnights time, I'm waiting to see if those records have turned up. If they have I will let you know!
Yours faithfully,
