Scottish Piper in Benijofar
Staff Reporter / 2005-06-09 15:06:12
It's not every day that a small Spanish village such as Benijofar is subject to a 'Bag Piper' in full traditional Scottish dress. Scottish Piper Stewart Forsyth of Los Balcones caused much intrigue last Saturday evening from local residents and passing traffic when he was playing his pipes outside 'Elizabeth's Unisex Hair and Beauty Salon' on Calle Ramon y Cajal, next to the Cam Bank. Elizabeth McDermott, originally from Glasgow, was hostess for a reception evening to launch her first business venture. Hairdresser Elizabeth, who has lived in Dolores for four years, along with her partner John, welcomed many customers old and new, as well as local business people, to her newly equipped salon, which opened Monday 12 July. Elizabeth is joined by qualified hairdresser Lola Marco Navarro from Almoradi and Inma Rodriguez Aldeguer from pueblo La Marina. Elizabeth, Lola and Inma previously all worked together at a hairdressing salon in Ciudad Quesada.
