BACK TO WORK BLUES
I read with interest this week that 57% of Spanish are depressed at the end of the summer holidays with the realisation that they have to return to work. 57%? I’d have thought it would have been nearer 99% after having, for some, a couple of months off and spending it on the beach. Having said that I get depressed at having to return to work on a Monday after the weekend so if I could somehow wangle a two month, mid-year, break I think I’d probably be suicidal by the time it came to clocking on again. Add to that the fact that it’s getting darker earlier every night now and the colder days are just around the corner – I think I’m gonna hibernate…so if anyone out there has a large cardboard box and a winter’s supply of mars bar, I’ll happily tuck myself away at the end of the garden until March…
SOCAILST CAN’T KEEP ABREAST OF THINGS
God must be smiling down on me these days as just one day before my birthday on the 20th of September; Campoamor beach will be full of ladies wearing bikinis in an attempt to break the world record for…er…women wearing bikinis. It must be fate and I see it as my responsibility to be there for you and to report (my camera will also be used extensively) on what I see there. Good luck to them and hopefully the socialists won’t get their way and ban it *as they are seriously trying to do) because ‘it is sexist and degrading to women…’ are they just daft, or stupid too? Among the thousands of ladies taking part will be thousands of voters. So wakey, wakey guys and girls, take off your politically correct berets and join in the fun, you could do a lot worse than donning a bikini yourselves and becoming part of the event – rather than looking like a bunch of fuddy duddies who want to look like they’re doing the right thing when actually they are the ones looking like a bunch of t**s...
FLASH, BANG, WALLOP!
Neil Young, the chap who helped the disabled girl in San Javier is a real life hero. ‘Captain Flash’ as he is now known, is a Kray Maga self defence teacher and ex-military, therefore his skills came in very handy when dealing with the two pieces of scum that tried to rob little Louisa. Not all of us have those skills but we can help people in other ways and certainly by following Neil’s lead and not simply ignoring a situation. He deserves an award of some sort and the thanks of many other people who may, without knowing, been potential victims of the two scumbags. At least he may have made them think twice before attacking someone innocent again.
