Tournament fever hits Charlton.

Over the next four weekends Charlton youngsters from Benjamin to cadets will be facing some of the best young Spanish football players at various tournaments.
Starting the weekend of 3/4th of June the Alevins and infantile will be drawn against Real Murcia, Valencia, Benfica, Barcelona and real Madrid to name but a few in a professional only club competition played at the magnificent stadium of cartegena.. Then Charlton move on the following weekend to Murcia where they will be playing another competition against Real Murcia, Valencia, Lorca, Hercules, Kelme, Elche and others over 3 days.
The following weekend all groups will then be playing at St Javier and once again some very tough opposition with Athletic Madrid, cartegena, Valencia and many others will be looking to win this prestige's tournament again this will be over 3 days. Then finally all the teams will be setting of to La Manga to play in a five day competition on the magnificent surroundings of the La Manga club resort where the England team train.
What a month for all the players associated with Charlton here in Spain, a great opportunity to pit there wits against the best youngsters Spain have to offer. More great news for Charlton was the confirmation that they will now be joining forces with Valencia football club. This will give the best children on the Charlton programme a chance to link in with Valencia. Many incentives are looking to be put in place over the next few weeks with Valencia which may include first team player visits, tickets for next season's games, training days at Valencia and much more.
Any player that wants to join the programme for next season where Charlton will be increasing teams in the Spanish league to 9. This is mainly due to the talent id programme that will see all youngsters that are selected onto the elect programmes with trails being held over July and August at the deportivo in pilar being selected as the new academy programme here in Spain. All the boys selected on this programme will receive training three times per week free of charge and all Spanish children selected will receive English lessons free of charge as part of the programme.
Charlton will now be set up just like in England with a full community programme followed by free training for the development centres and academy players. In 2007 should also see the introduction of Charlton's first team Sponsors Llanear opening of one of the 25 property golf and football sites resorts. This will give Charlton here in Spain there own football facilities to develop there players.
