BENIDORM HOPES FOR RAIL LINK

It looks as if you will soon be able to travel between Benidorm and Alicante Airport by train. The planned route should take 36 minutes, as opposed to the 60 minutes the tram takes at present, between Benidorm and Alicante Town Centre.  

Councillor Mario Flores has said that the proposed train should follow international guidelines to enable it to join up with the national network and thus connect Benidorm with high speed routes to Madrid.  

The line will serve 3.3 million travellers, and will enable Benidorm to feel less isolated.  Of the 115 km route, 6 km will have to be built as a tunnel.
