TORREVIEJA COSTA LIONS GOING QUACKERS FOR DAYRON
Contributor / 2012-06-23 18:23:44
The Torrevieja Costa Lions Club recently became aware of the plight of little Dayron Caracena Blanc from Formentera del Segura. Dayron who is a lively 6 year old boy suffers from chronic non-progressive encephalopy secondary to perinatal cerebral hipoxia. To help Dayron lead as normal a life as possible he needs to receive therapy which is currently provided at a hospital in Palma, Mallorca.
The Lions are planning a special event to help raise funds in support of Dayron .Taking place on the afternoon of Sunday 23rd September 2012 from 1400-1800 hrs in Parque del Molino del Agua, in Torrelamata,Torrevieja.
The emphasis will be on a family fun day with entertainment, live music, games for children from 3 to 93 plus food and drink for all.
The main attraction will be unique in the Costa Blanca with the Lions first annual duck race which everyone can participate in and although not of Olympic proportions this year, will surely drive everyone quackers.
Entry to the event is free for all but there will be opportunities for everyone to buy ducks to take part in the race.
Lion President Iain Bennett would urge businesses, bars, restaurants, organisations and individuals alike, to buy ducks priced at only 2 euros each, either directly from the Lions or from various outlets throughout the area. The more ducks we sell the more fun the race will be and without question ,the more funds we raise to help Dayron.
If you or your business would be happy to support and be an outlet for selling ducks please contact Iain on 966 731 495 or idsbennett@hotmail.co.uk .
Lets quack on and get the ducks down to work!
