Alicante Airport

Just to confirm the appalling security situation at Alicante airport.
We also had a nasty experience on the 6/02/06. On picking up my wife's sister at 8.30pm at a very quiet time, we left the airport car park and noticed two parked cars at the turn for the motorway to Alicante. My wife noticed both drivers on mobiles. After passing them after a few minutes when exiting on to the N-332 we were rammed from behind. A car overtook us and flashed, I pulled over and a car pulled in behind us. They showed concern and tried to open the passenger door, I got out and realised immediately what they were attempting to do, looked at the damage, saw it was slight and said go away or in words to that effect and drove off.
In view of repeated reportings of this type of activity at the airport I find the Spanish police response to the security of British visitors and residents and indeed any other visitors to be completely inadequate. You have the feeling that they just can't be bothered. Airport security needs a complete overhaul if Spain is to maintain any credibility for the safety of its citizens and visitors. We have a house here but it makes one think as to our safety.
